This is not really a four-star campsite (obviously, not a 5-star campsite as the owner boasts) BUT it is the best there is in the area (another campsite located just down the road is similar but was more crowded, it had a better restaurant though). The other campgrounds surrounding Lake Ohrid on the Macedonian side look like they could play the lead role in a horror movie. Or at least in CSI. Compared to those old dilapidated sites piled with trash, this really was a nice place. It is, however, TINY, houses maybe 5-6 camper vans at the most. The bathroom leaves a lot of room for improvement (concrete slab on the floor) but the owners are exceedingly friendly and go out of their way to help tourists. It
location - right on Lake Ohrid, close to the Albanian border, small private beach (pebbles). friendly owners make you feel welcomeCLEAN

Really impressive! Spacious, beautifully maintained campsite. Fantastic price/performance ratio. Quite inexpensive and no hidden fees (electricity, chemical toilet disposal, grey water disposal, filling up on drinking water - all included in the regular price). Inexpensive restaurant with tasty local dishes. CLEAN. And this really is a big deal in Albania, where finding squeaky clean toilets and showers is next to impossible. Most of all, you really get the feeling of being welcome here. If there is downside, it could be the lake itself. It's actually more impressive (better beaches, cleaner water, less algae) on the Montenegro side.
clean, spacious, well maintained grounds, excellent price/performance ratio
if anything... the lake itself (but if this campsite was in the middle of nowhere, it would still be outstanding!)
The landscaping is really nice: private island, pitches practically on the beach with lovely awnings. And judging by Albanian standards this is a really nice campsite. BUT... restrooms need to be renovated and upgraded (foot pedals for pumping water, no toilet paper, stand-up toilets in one barrack). Quite expensive by Albanian standards and some hidden fees (for example, additional fee for filling up on water). Jellyfish in the water but this is something the owners cannot be faulted for, it's simply outside their control.
lovely man-made island, pitches with lovely view of sea
sanitary facilities need improvement, some hidden fees

This place was PACKED. This is a huge campsite with several hundred pitches and when we were there in August the place was full. Sanitary facilities were stretched (and smelly), there was a lot of noise. Plus, it was quite expensive, we paid 37 euro for 2 adults and 1 child for 1 night. The pools thmselves were somewhat disappointing and... you guessed it.... packed.

Awesome!!! W stopped there on our way back from the Black Sea Coast and will be back again. Excellent sanitary facilities, lovely large swimming pool, great atmosphere, good restaurant and helpful staff and owners. We absolutely loved it! We really couldn't believe our eyes after experiencing the horrible campsites on the coast.
Thanks for your feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the campsite. We have a new swimming pool for 2016 season and the trees are growing to provide shade. We will pass on your praise to our staff. Happy travels, Nick and Nicky.

This value helps you assess how reliable and trustworthy a camper is, so you can determine how much weight to place on their ratings. It’s calculated using several different components. The scale for this value runs from 0.0 to 5.0.
Camping.info designed this trustworthiness scale as a way to make it harder to abuse the rating system. It also provides readers with a rough idea as to how much weight should be given to the statements and experiences of other campers.
This trustworthiness or reliability rating is assessed according to a user’s various activities and behaviours. Influencing factors include aspects like the number of submitted ratings and their usefulness, the number of pictures uploaded and their meaningfulness as well as the completeness of their camper profile.
The higher the value (on a scale from 0.0 to 5.0), the more weight you can place on the experiences and statements of another camper. This should give you a rough idea as to how to assess the ratings by your fellow campers.
