Description

Profile
Our campsite is situated directly on the river Danube - with stunning views of the Göttweig Abbey - at the entrance of the beautiful Wachau Valley! The towns of Krems and Stein and also the Wachau Region belong to the … UNESCO World Heritage. The campsite has a campground for tents and for caravans and campers. There are also four MOBILE HOMES in two different sizes available for rent! We offer a dayroom with satellite-TV and free W-LAN and also a barbecue grill. A beautiful terrace awaits our guests where they can get coffee or tea, refreshing drinks, fine wines from the region and draft beer, as well as small hot and cold dishes, snacks and ice cream. On reservation one day in advance you can also enjoy our camper's breakfast! Next to the campsite is the Kremser marina located. In approximately 5 minutes you can reach the leisure park with the swimming arena (indoor pool with sauna and outdoor pool), a tennis court, mini-golf and a football field. Also in 5 minute walking distance you will find the ship station for the Wachau boat cruises - from there you can enjoy a round trips to Dürnstein, Spitz and Melk and return. There is also a well-equipped children's playground near to the ship station. Krems is considered one of the most beautiful towns in Europe. For it’s excellently preserved remains of medieval architecture and exemplarily renovated buildings the township of Krems-Stein has been awarded the "Europa nostra" and belong to the UNESCO world heritage. Apart from their outstanding architecture the towns of Krems and Stein are also well-known for their excellent wines and the Wachau Valley for the apricots. Shopping in the historic centres of Krems and Stein is an exceptional experience. With its more than 20 schools and over 6000 students, Krems - since 1995 also a university-town - has been a cultural and educational centre for centuries. Modern art and culture exist in perfect harmony with historc works of art. The "Kunstmeile" Krems is located near the camping site. With "Kunsthalle Krems", "Karikatur Museum" and "Forum Frohner" it is Austria's biggest art gallery complex and has been presenting exhibitions of outstanding quality. Both Krems and Stein are also famous as sceneries for films and serials (Hofrat Geiger, Donauprinzessin...). Worth to visit in the surrounding are the Wachau Valley, the so-called "Waldviertel" north of the Wachau Valley or the Valley of the river Kamp (Kamptal) with its unique natural beauty and many interesting ruins, castles and abbeys. Also the provincial capital St. Pölten (20 minutes drive) or Austria’s capital Vienna (1 hour drive) are worth to see!
