Further afield, you can sample fresh seafood and visit the oyster beds in the local oyster-farming villages, take a … boat to Cap Ferret passing the Île aux Oiseaux, the characteristic cabanes tchanquées - wooden huts built on stilts – and pinasses – local fishing boats en route. Or simply marvel at the majestic Dune du Pyla, the highest sand dune in Europe.
