This value helps you assess how reliable and trustworthy a camper is, so you can determine how much weight to place on their ratings. It’s calculated using several different components. The scale for this value runs from 0.0 to 5.0.
Camping.info designed this trustworthiness scale as a way to make it harder to abuse the rating system. It also provides readers with a rough idea as to how much weight should be given to the statements and experiences of other campers.
This trustworthiness or reliability rating is assessed according to a user’s various activities and behaviours. Influencing factors include aspects like the number of submitted ratings and their usefulness, the number of pictures uploaded and their meaningfulness as well as the completeness of their camper profile.
The higher the value (on a scale from 0.0 to 5.0), the more weight you can place on the experiences and statements of another camper. This should give you a rough idea as to how to assess the ratings by your fellow campers.
This family-run campsite is nestled idyllically in the Black Forest and has a brewery on-site (also run by the family) that serves good food. The reservation process was uncomplicated. And the campsite offers the Schwarzwaldkarte that allows free regional transport and many discounts. Unfortunately, that where my positive review stops.
The campsite has no pitches with water/wastewater connections at all. (We knew this when we booked though, but others may not be aware.) The tourist pitches are mostly grass with no stones or gravel, so during rain, they are a muddy mess. Not that there are many tourist pitches. It seemed to be mostly permanent campers, who weren’t particularly friendly. Neither could I honestly say that the staff was overly friendly here. The woman at reception did her job mostly without a smile. The lady in the mini-market couldn’t be bothered to explain the highly complicated (!) system of ordering breakfast rolls—it seemed to be a different process every day. The main sanitary facilities under the mini-market are small, dirty and in need of renovation. We practically felt we had to step out of the shower stalls to turn around. It was a while before we discovered the renovated, modern facilities under the reception building. We did not try the pool or the sauna. However, kids are apparently allowed in the sauna, which is unusual and nice. The WiFi (WLAN) was free but the signal was practically non-existent. The campsite also does not accept Visa cards, only EC. We had a pleasant-enough stay despite all this but I doubt we will be back.
EDIT: We do speak fluent German, but as a native English speaker, I wrote the review in English.
