3.76 of 5 stars
This value helps you assess how reliable and trustworthy a camper is, so you can determine how much weight to place on their ratings. It’s calculated using several different components. The scale for this value runs from 0.0 to 5.0.
Camping.info designed this trustworthiness scale as a way to make it harder to abuse the rating system. It also provides readers with a rough idea as to how much weight should be given to the statements and experiences of other campers.
This trustworthiness or reliability rating is assessed according to a user’s various activities and behaviours. Influencing factors include aspects like the number of submitted ratings and their usefulness, the number of pictures uploaded and their meaningfulness as well as the completeness of their camper profile.
The higher the value (on a scale from 0.0 to 5.0), the more weight you can place on the experiences and statements of another camper. This should give you a rough idea as to how to assess the ratings by your fellow campers.
Beautiful campsite terraced above a small lake that is good for bathing. The campsite has a small playground for kids, a fenced-in dog run, and a small restaurant/snack bar(see below). There is a new owner who has taken over as of the beginning of 2019 and is making improvements step by step.
The campers seemed to be overwhelmingly aging residential/long-term campers. Though we had reserved a pitch, we were allocated to a large, open, un-demarcated field marked as tent meadow on the camping map. Most of the travelers seemed to have been sent to this open pitch. The ground was very soggy from the rain and we had a difficult time stabilizing the caravan. //
The water connection was right at the entrance to the field. Depending on one’s location on the field, the water is quite far away. This could be improved.
Wi-Fi is only available close to the main building and restaurant. //
There are very nice, renovated toilets by the main building (reception/restaurant).
There is only one sanitary facility with showers for the rest of the site. It is in need of modernization. At registration, one receives a chip. Not only must this be used for entrance to the campsite, but also for access to the sanitary facilities. That means if you have to go to the bathroom (e.g., in the middle of the night) and forget your chip, you cannot get in. The chip is used to start the hot water in the showers. Hot water is charged at a fair price, but the time does not stop when you turn off the water (e.g., when shampooing). You have to manually press a button to stop the time from counting down. If you remove the chip before pressing the button, it results in an error and the following person has no hot water until it is cleared. All in all, we found this system arcane and unpractical. However, the owner explained that people are inconsiderate in the amount of water they use. So he intends to keep this system (or a coin-based system) for ecological reasons rather than converting to a flat fee. We found this aim admirable. //
We found the restaurant belonging to the campsite expensive for what is served and the service a bit unfriendly. We asked for salt and pepper. It was never brought to us. We asked twice and waited 15 minutes for the bill even though the restaurant was only half full. Thinking that we should give the restaurant a second chance, we went down again in the evening after dinner when they were much less busy. We ordered a bottle of wine. Along with that, we asked for some tap water. We were told unceremoniously that they do not serve tap water—not even for a small fee. For a purportedly ecological campsite (“Naturcamping”) we were surprised that we would have to purchase bottled water that needs to be processed, packaged and transported rather than be able to drink the perfectly good and available tap water that we were even willing to pay for. We spoke to the owner and he said he would follow up on why water wasn’t given to us on request. //
A very lovely campsite that is slowly ironing out its small defects.
