Camping Heidewald - an excellent choice for your memorable campingholiday!
4,77 of 5 stars
This value helps you assess how reliable and trustworthy a camper is, so you can determine how much weight to place on their ratings. It’s calculated using several different components. The scale for this value runs from 0.0 to 5.0.
Camping.info designed this trustworthiness scale as a way to make it harder to abuse the rating system. It also provides readers with a rough idea as to how much weight should be given to the statements and experiences of other campers.
This trustworthiness or reliability rating is assessed according to a user’s various activities and behaviours. Influencing factors include aspects like the number of submitted ratings and their usefulness, the number of pictures uploaded and their meaningfulness as well as the completeness of their camper profile.
The higher the value (on a scale from 0.0 to 5.0), the more weight you can place on the experiences and statements of another camper. This should give you a rough idea as to how to assess the ratings by your fellow campers.

Campingpark Heidewald is an excellent site in the German Munsterland, with easy access by train or road to towns such as Munster and Osnabruck. We received a very warm welcome from the owner and her assistant who both spoke excellent English, and who guided us to our spacious pitches in the tourer area of the site. Every pitch has 16 amp electricity, water and waste points plus free access to good Wi-fi. The sanitary block was nice and warm and always kept very clean. There are a lot of statics on site but the two touring areas are quite distinct and of open aspect. Bread can be ordered at Reception, and within a few hundred yards is an excellent restaurant with a good choice of menu at a very reasonable cost. Campingpark Heidewald is about a mile outside the lovely town of Sassenberg, but only a 20 minute walk to the station. The site is about quarter of a mile easy level walk to a lake with a clean beach, and there are many miles of off-road cycle tracks in the area. We stayed here in our caravan, with friends in their motor home, at the beginning of May and liked it so much we extended our stay. I can definitely recommend this campsite without hesitation, and intend to return at some time in the future.
The friendliness of the owners and, for us, the fact athat they spoke excellent English

The campsite is lovely and the staff are very friendly, but some residents are rude and arrogant. This site has barriers at the entrance and rules regarding entering and leaving the site between 1-3pm and after 10pm, which was not a problem had we been made aware of that when checking in. I checked in with the help of a relative who speaks German and no mention was made of these rules nor was anything written in the brochure. One evening we returned at 10.15pm and could not get in so had to leave our car in the entrance car park and walk, fully laden, to our caravan which was at the furthest end of the site. There is also a speed limit of 7kmph, which is impossible as your car stalls. The people who were rude were a minority and could have been more understanding rather than shouting and waving their arms, although that may have had something to do with the fact that we were English as other English tourists had the same problems. There is access to Wifi but if you are at the far end of the site your connection may be hindered as was ours, but the staff were more than helpful in this matter. All in all I would recommend this site and would visit again.
Even though it is in the countryside and not close to anything, it is a nice site with very friendly staff and good facilities
Clear information regarding times re entering and leaving the site.Residents who think they own the site and have no tolerance for visitor
